The TCU Horned Frogs went bananas on the Texas Tech Red Raiders, scoring 82 points and setting all sorts of records in the process.

When you score 82 points in a game, like the TCU Horned Frogs did on Saturday afternoon, you’re bound to set a few new high water marks on the stat sheet. That’s exactly what happened as Trevone Boykin and TCU ran 86 plays and racked up almost 800 yards in total offense on the day.

Unsurprisingly, TCU set all sorts of records in their route of Texas Tech — as you do when you score 82 points in a game.

Per College Football Talk:

"Trevone Boykin announced his Heisman Trophy candidacy in a major way by leading No. 10 TCU to a rec0rd-setting 82-27 stomping of Texas Tech Saturday in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs’ 82 points were a school and Big 12 inter-conference record and the most ever allowed by Texas Tech. TCU racked up 785 yards of total offense on the day, also a school record."

It was a devastating win the really snowballed on the Red Raiders. They had the lead for a while and looked like they could give TCU a run for their money. Then The Horned Frogs went off and ended up with 82 points and both school and conference records all over the place.

We often see blowouts in college football but with the new scheduling that has teams playing better opponents, we haven’t seen our typical number of blowout wins.

TCU got vintage though, and the 82-27 win was insane to see.
