With the Madden week 8 roster update live, Madden 15 continues to be a living breathing game. Getting to this on Monday rather than the normal Thursday timeframe, we can take a look at how last week’s best performers did after EA Sports gave them their ratings boost in Madden 15.

As has been par for the course in the NFL this season, nothing has been predictable. Week 7 saw plenty of that come to life again, and a host of new names saw their stock rise in Madden 15.
EA Sports has continued to turn to Donny Moore, the Madden 15 ratings czar, in order to best help the football video game replicate the NFL.
If you remember correctly, it was Peyton Manning who became the all time NFL touchdown pass leader in Week 7, passing the mark set by Brett Favre. Thanks to his new milestone, he got quite the ratings boost becoming the third 99 overall player in Madden 15 (joining Richard Sherman and J.J. Watt). Manning also receives boosts to TAD (+1) and PAC (+1).
On top of Peyton, a kicker, big name quarterback, and emerging rookie wide receiver all were given ratings boosts as well.
THREE UP
Cairo Santos – K – KC (+5 to 67 OVR)
Tony Romo – QB – DAL (+2 to 92 OVR)
Sammy Watkins – WR – BUF (+2 to 85 OVR)
Looking to bounce back from poor week 7 performances, here are three guys who saw themselves drop some ground.
THREE DOWN
Marshawn Lynch – RB – SEA (-1 to 95 OVR)
Brian Cushing – LB – HOU (-2 to 85 OVR)
Kirk Cousins – QB – WAS (-2 to 75 OVR)
Considering the benching of Kirk Cousins in favor of Colt McCoy, it is somewhat surprising that Cousins didn’t lose more than just two overall points. Also, Lynch and the Seattle Seahawks offense continues to be anemic, needing to go to the wire against the Carolina Panthers.

I’d bet Ben Roethlisberger is a great candidate for a bump in the Week 9 Madden 15 roster update. Check back Thursday for the Madden 15 Week 9 predictions and week 9 roster update as well.
