Bill Belichick, Wes Welker Have Moved On
Bill Belichick and Wes Welker have moved on since last year’s AFC Championship game.
Wes Welker spent six years with the New England Patriots before leaving the Patriots for the Denver Broncos, who offered a better contract to the 5’9 wide receiver. Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Welker were at odds after the 2013 AFC Championship game. But since then, they’ve moved on.

Bill Belichick showed frustration after last year’s AFC Championship game when Wes Welker took then-Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib out of the game with a block that Belichick called, “one of the worst plays I’ve ever seen.” But, Belichick said Wednesday that he thinks highly of Welker and has no personal issues with him.
“Way past that,” Belichick said, via the Associated Press. “I have a lot of respect for Wes and what he did for us and what he’s done for the Broncos and what he’s done throughout his career.”
Welker moved on immediately after, citing that he needed to prepare for the Super Bowl.
Aqib Talib since then has joined the Broncos organization and said that the incident never actually bothered him. When he signed with the Broncos this offseason, he said that he considers Welker a friend and doesn’t think Welker was trying to hurt him.
The square off between the Broncos and Patriots will be one of the biggest games of the year as both teams are fighting for that top spot in the NFL. The Broncos are 6-1 and the Patriots are 6-2 and are on a four game win streak.
