Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov took a couple shots at Jason Kidd on Monday.

Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov apparently isn’t too upset that Jason Kidd is no longer coaching his basketball team.

Prokhorov was asked about Kidd on Monday and used a classic English proverb to describe his feelings on the new Milwaukee Bucks head coach.

From The Brooklyn Game:

"“There is a nice proverb in English,” Prokhorov said. “Don’t let the door hit you where the Good Lord has split you.”After laughter, Prokhorov continued.“I think each side did what they thought was the best, and I like what we have now. I think our structure is optimal. We have a very strong, experienced coach, and a very strong GM in Billy King.”(…)“I think we shouldn’t get mad, I think we should get even,” Prokhorov added. “And we’ll see it on the court.”"

It’s certainly understandable why Prokhorov doesn’t exactly have fond memories about his time working with Kidd.

The Nets owner gave Kidd his first head coaching job prior to last season and Kidd repaid him by leading the Nets to a second-round playoff exit then demanding more power within the organization. After the failed power play, the Nets gave Kidd permission to talk with the Bucks, with whom he eventually signed a coaching contract with.

The Nets won 44 games during the 2013-14 NBA season under Kidd and entered the playoffs as a No. 6 seed.
