The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently reeling after losing their two stars,

Russell Westbrook

and

Kevin Durant

, to injuries. As one of the favorites in the Western Conference,

Scott Brooks

squad is being tested very early this season. Tonight, the Thunder look to get a lift as Reggie Jackson returns to the court.

After suffering an ankle injury, Reggie Jackson has yet to suit up for the Thunder this season. The point guard was considered to be an important role player for the Thunder heading into the season, and now that role is going to be amplified.

Darnell Mayberry, a Thunder beat writer from The Oklahoman, is now reporting that the Thunder will have Jackson back in action tonight.

Mayberry has also said that should Reggie Jackson be able to take the court, he will be the starter.

The Thunder will need big minutes to come from somewhere, and Jackson has a huge opportunity in front of him. Should he be able to return and stay healthy, the young point guard can really use the next few weeks to come into his own.

Despite being forced into extended action with the injuries to Durant and Westbrook, there are few within the Thunder organization that wouldn’t say Jackson has a ton of upside and has shown can be relied upon as a key contributor.

The Thunder are scheduled to take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm ET.
