Sylvester Stallone Says Roberto Duran Whooped His Ass In Rocky 2 Filming

Sylvester Stallone was a great boxer – in the movies – but he recalled getting his butt beaten when sparring with former champion Roberto Duran during “Rocky II” filming. 

Roberto Duran is one of the greatest boxers of all-time and he made a cameo in “Rocky II” as a sparring partner for Sylvester Stallone.

Apparently, Duran was even kind enough to whoop Sylvester Stallone’s ass during filming.

While speaking about current boxing champion Bernard Hopkins, Stallone was asked about whether or not he would ever consider taking the talents he gained while filming Rocky to sparring with the 49 year old.

Well, Stallone wouldn’t consider it, because he said he learned his lesson back in the day with Duran.

“Professionals and [acting] are two different things,” Stallone told TMZ. “I kind of interpreted it. They’re the real deal.”

Perhaps bringing realism to filming isn’t always the best idea, as Stallone learned when he stepped into the ring against a fighter as talented as Roberto Duran. But hey, sometimes you have to live a little in order to learn.
