Tommy Hawk of the Chicago Blackhawks jumped out of a plane, and it’s awesome

Sports mascots have the life, honestly.

In a video recently uploaded to the Chicago Blackhawks’ official site, the team’s mascot- Tommy Hawk, which makes him sound cooler and more like a punk rocker than any other NHL mascot alive- went skydiving with some of his friends from over at Red Bull.

He handled skydiving way better than I ever would, as someone who cried during the ROPES course in fourth grade. He seemed beyond stoked from the minute they strapped him into his harness, running around the airport and poking his head into any plane he came across.

I guess this is as good a way as any to get fans’ minds off the lackluster season the Blackhawks have been having, although one could argue that it’s just a mascot doing what he’s supposed to do anyway- boost team morale and elevate everyone’s spirits.

Either way, congrats to Tommy Hawk for having a truly spectacular afternoon. Plus, while we’re on the subject… what’s the over/under on Jonathan Toews being talked into skydiving some time soon, and still not cracking a smile? I vote to send the entire Blackhawks out jumping.
