In the first half on Monday night, it seemed as if the Florida Gators would be cruising to the victory at home over the Miami Hurricanes. However, in the second half, something happened.
Angel Rodriguez happened.
The Miami guard played absolutely out of his mind on Monday night against the No. 8 Gators during the final 20 minutes, dropping in 21 points. He finished with 24 total on the night, but people will probably only remember three of those points.
Down by two and with time running out in regulation, Rodriguez, knowing he had the hot hand, took matters into his own hands and he personally made sure that his team was walking out with the upset win.
That shot alone shows you that he was just feeling it. And when someone is just feeling it in a big game like this, there’s really no stopping them. Miami definitely has a special one in this Kansas State transfer.
As for Florida, well, they dropped one spot in the AP Rankings that were released on Monday, and thanks to the shooting efforts of Angel Rodriguez, they’ll surely be dropping more next week.
