St. Louis Blues‘ Goaltender Jake Allen is looking for a new mask, and he’s decided to outsource ideas to the fans.

Jake Allen has decided to let the fans pick what his new mask will look like.  He asked the fans to submit ideas for what design they thought he should get on his mask, and the fans did not disappoint.  Over 400 submissions were sent in to Allen of ideas for the design.  After considering all the submissions, Allen came down to a final three.

Of these last three ideas, he will let the fans vote on which one they like best.  Voting for the designs will conclude today.  After the voting is finished, the designer of the winning mask will win four tickets to a St. Louis Blues game right along the glass and a meet-and-greet with Jake Allen himself.  They will also receive a signed stick from the Blues’ Goalie.

You can see the three design options here.

All three feature some sort of tribute to the city of St. Louis.  Two of the helmets feature music notes to pay tribute to the city’s musical history, and all three somehow incorporate the St. Louis Arch in the design.  Two of the masks feature a snake design, which goes with Allen’s nickname, Jake the Snake.

This is a really neat idea by Jake Allen to get fan participation and have them feel a bit closer to the team and the organization.
