Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer was far from thrilled with his own performance on Sunday even though the Browns won.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer sounded like a guy whose mistakes had cost his team a win after Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. When speaking with the media after the game, Hoyer was not pleased with his own performance.

"“It’s great to win but I’m really disappointed in myself. I feel like I let the team down even though we won. That’s not how I play. Obviously it’s great to get a win and be 7-4, but I have to do a better job.”"

Hoyer’s comments are a bit surprising in that they came after he led his team on a drive the ended with a last-second field goal to win the game. Hoyer was 4-6, including a spike that counted at an incompletion, for 61 yards on the game’s final drive.

His comments show that the end result of the game doesn’t always tell the story of how team got to that point. Hoyer threw three interceptions and appeared to be forcing the ball to wide receiver Josh Gordon throughout the game.

The Browns are currently 7-4 and sit just a half-game behind Cincinnati for the division lead.
