Oklahoma wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, formerly of Missouri, is expected to declare for the NFL Draft this year according to a report.

Troubled wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, who last played for Missouri in 2013, is likely to declare for the NFL draft according to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.

Green-Beckham was dismissed from the Missouri Tigers after a string of off-field incidents. This included multiple arrest for marijuana and allegedly pushing a woman down a flight of stairs. He then transferred to Oklahoma, but Oklahoma’s petition to the NCAA to left him be eligible to play this season was denied.

Green-Beckham is a tremendously gifted wide receiver. At 6’6″ and 220 lbs, he will certainly receive interest from NFL teams despite concerns about his off-field drama. Physically similar players include Carolina’s Kelvin Benjamin and Cincinnati’s A.J. Green, though neither carry with them Green-Beckham’s baggage.

Any NFL team that drafts Green-Beckham will clearly be hoping that the time off has not adversely affected his playmaking ability. This situation is similar to that of USC’s Mike Williams, who was drafted by the Lions sitting out the 2004 season. Williams is considered a major draft bust.

In 14 games as sophomore for Missouri in 2013, Green-Beckham caught 59 passes for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns.
