The Washington Redskins will be benching quarterback Robert Griffin III once again in his short three year career, but his trade value is hardly what the team gave up to acquire him in 2012.

It seems that current Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III would be best served to revert to calling himself former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III as he’s severely devalued himself while playing for Daniel Snyder. Maybe it’s because he’s not all that likable — or maybe we just hate Daniel Synder that much we’re taking it out on RGIII.

Either way, Griffin III is once again benched and there is increasing chatter that he could be traded in the near future. None of it is grounded in much reality, but that may have more to do with how little the Redskins would receive in return on an RGIII trade than how big of a burden he’s becoming.

According to Albert Breer from NFL Network, NFL GMs currently have Griffin III valued as being worth a third round pick on the high end and a fourth round pick at the very least.

This doesn’t mean a trade won’t be explored but it just means that whatever trade explored is going to be a slap in the face of Daniel Snyder. This is a man so hellbent on getting his way that he refuses to change his bluntly racist team name.

If he’s so duh in on that — something that would actually make him a ton of money — then how dug in do you think he is on getting as much value back for Robert Griffin III as he can?
