The Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams will play Sunday at St. Louis’ Edward Jones Dome, though there was talk of moving the game because of protests in Ferguson.

There was some discussion about possibly moving Sunday’s scheduled game between the Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams from St. Louis to Indianapolis, but an NFL spokesperson said Thursday the game will remain as scheduled.

With tensions still high in nearby Ferguson, Mo., a league source told the Indianapolis Star on Wednesday there was a “remote possibility” the game could be moved to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and played on Monday night.

It would have been the second straight week the NFL had to move a game to a different venue and back it up a day to Monday.

The Buffalo Bills “hosted” the New York Jets at Detroit’s Ford Field on Monday after heavy snow made Buffalo’s Ralph Wilson Stadium unplayable.

But on Thursday, an NFL spokesman said the game will remain in St. Louis, according to NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal:

The irony of moving a Raiders-Rams game is that both teams have featured prominently in rumors swirling around the possibility of a team—or teams—returning to Los Angeles as soon as next season.

The Raiders have a lease problem at O.co Coliseum in Oakland, while the Rams have an out in their lease at the Edward Jones Dome that could be triggered as soon as the end of this season.

Both franchises once called L.A. home. The Rams moved from Cleveland in 1946 and remained at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum until 1979, when they moved to then-Anaheim Stadium until relocating to St. Louis in 1995.

The Raiders played at the Coliseum from 1982-94, returning to Oakland for the 1995 season.
