Chicago Bears Coach Takes Blame For Thanksgiving Struggles
By Cory Buck
Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman said he was to blame for the team’s road loss to division rival Detroit Lions.
The Chicago Bears are toast after their latest loss at Ford Field to the Detroit Lions. Their playoff hopes have already evaporated and coach Marc Trestman didn’t sugarcoat reality when asked about his team’s latest performance that likely served as the final nail in its coffin.

“It starts with me. I’m looking inside and accepting accountability for this loss, obviously. We just couldn’t get it done today and didn’t have enough ammunition,” Trestman said, via Pro Football Talk.
The Bears had an early lead, which quickly disappeared when Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense found their groove and scored three straight first half touchdowns. Detroit would never trail again after the second of those three.
“It was extremely disappointing,” Trestman added. “We just didn’t play well. That’s the bottom line. We didn’t play well enough offensively, we didn’t play well enough defensively to win this game.”
Unfortunately even the coach appears to be out of answers at this point. The Bears had two straight wins against easy opponents to give themselves a little bit of life on the season, but for the fifth time this season, they couldn’t keep an opponent below 30 points scored.
Whoever you want to blame, the Chicago Bears are cooked and relegated to the role of spoiler in the NFL playoff picture. The biggest question now centers on whether or not the Bears will retain Trestman for next season.
