St. Louis didn’t have to wait too much longer to reach the 1,000 point milestone.  The Rangers took advantage of some sloppy passing by the Flyers in their own end.  Derek Stepan took a bad angle shot from the boards and the rebound went right to a streaking Martin St. Louis who made no mistake and buried his 9th goal of the season, and his 1,000th career point.

St. Louis is only the fifth undrafted player to reach the milestone, joining Adam Oates, Peter Stastny, Dino Ciccarelli and Joe Mullen.

St. Louis is also the 81st player in NHL history to accomplish such a feet.  He is the fifth active player with 1,000 points along with New Jersey Devils’ Jaromir Jagr, San Jose Sharks’ Joe Thornton, Colorado Avalanche’s Jarome Iginla and Chicago Blackhawks’ Marion Hossa.

Congratulations to Marty St. Louis, a small man with a huge heart.
