Canada’s First Family of Professional Wrestling, the Harts, must now contend with yet another disturbing chapter in a history filled with tragedy and turmoil.
Teddy Hart (real name Teddy Annis) is currently wanted by Strathcona County (Alberta) police on multiple charges involving two women, which includes sexual assault.
“I can confirm a warrant has been issued,” said RCMP Const. Chantelle Kelly, media liaison officer with the Strathcona, Alta., detachment.
The 34-year-old Hart, who is regarded as the final graduate of the family’s infamous Hart Dungeon, is being charged with two counts of sexual assault, unlawful confinement and three charges of assaulting the two women, ages 24 and 40. Hart is apparently in the United States and there is no timetable as to when he will return to face the charges.
A relative of WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart, Teddy Hart’s career has fallen short of the success enjoyed by the likes of his relatives, which include the late Owen Hart and “British Bulldog” Davey Smith, along with Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and current WWE Diva Natalia Neidhart. Teddy Hart had a brief stint in WWE and has spent much of the last decade wrestling with a variety of organizations. He is currently working as an independent wrestler.
He is the oldest grandchild of the late Stu and Helen Hart, who started the family’s wrestling life in the late 1940s.
