Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens recently addressed the rumors of him possibly making the move to Indiana after this season.

Some of firmly of the belief that this will be the last season that Tom Crean is in charge of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball program. A lot of those people are also of the belief that Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens could be lured back to the college game, given the prestige of the Indiana program.

Well for right now, Stevens is shooting down that talk.

Stevens talked with Paul Flannery of SB Nation recently, and he’s stating that he’s happy with the Celtics at the moment and he has no desire to make another move any time soon.

“I’ve committed to being here,” Stevens told SB Nation this past Thursday. “I’ve already left a situation once and that was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to choose to do. This is something that as long as they want me to be here, this is what I want to be doing and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. I know it’s all specific to the rumor mills and the discussion of one spot. I think they’ve got a good coach who’s done a helluva job. He doesn’t deserve that speculation.

“I’m the head coach of the Boston Celtics,” Stevens continued. “This is the job. This is where I am. This is what I want to do really well and I’m committed to being as good as I can every single day for the Celtics.”

It would make sense that the Hoosiers would want to make a run at Stevens, the man who built the Butler program up so much to the point where they went to not one, but two NCAA Championship games. While they didn’t win either, just that program being there was enough to make Stevens one of the hottest coaches on the market.

But, it’s still early in the process. A lot can change between now and the time the Hoosiers could fire Crean.
