Joakim Noah provides Anthony Davis with the highest of compliments for an NBA stud.

New Orleans Pelicans golden ticket Anthony Davis is already at the level for which he’s being trust into the “league’s best” category.  The conversation of when he’s going to surpass LeBron James as top-dog has already taken place and Chicago Bulls big man Joakim Noah has taken notice as well.

Before Saturday night’s shoot around, prior to the Bulls – Pelicans game, Noah had some kind words for the second-year big man out of Kentucky.

From ESPN Chicago:

"“He can shoot the ball — there’s not a lot of things he can’t do on a basketball court. He affects the games in a lot of ways. Even though his stats are crazy, there’s a lot of things that he does that you don’t even see on a stat sheet that affect the game. He’s a hell of a talent.”"

Noah is a player that couldn’t have taken more contrasting path to NBA stardom when compared to Davis.  He had to fight the stigma of only being a “hustle guy” with very little talent in comparison to other NBA bigs, while Davis came into the league with the complete package.  Noah though has proved the talent-stigma wrong, hustling and outsmarting the competition.  To say Noah knows a thing or two about the game would be a major understatement.

"“He hustles,” Noah said. “He runs the floor better than anyone in the league and he goes after it. I’m sure he’ll be pretty excited to play at home, too.”"

The home reference is referring to Davis coming back to Chicago, where he grew up and attended Perspectives Charter School on the South Side.  He missed his opportunity during his rookie season to play in front of his home fans because of injury.

Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau knows how challenging his mere presence on the court can be.

“You don’t guard a great player in this league individually,” Thibodeau said. “That’s impossible. So we’re going to have to have great team awareness.”

Entering the game tonight, Davis is currently fourth in the league in points (24.4), first in blocks (2.93) and 10th in rebounds (10.2).
