As Jim Harbaugh went through all of the post-game formalities as head coach of an NFL team, he was greeted by one of the more unlikely people in the tunnel.
Yankees third-baseman Alex Rodriguez was that unlikely person. He attended the game today in San Francisco and apparently couldn’t wait to greet Mr. Harbaugh afterwards.
Why this strange encounter occurred is anybody’s best case, but it led to some slightly-awkward small talk that seemed to waste time for both parties.
I mean lets face it, at this point Harbaugh is just trying to get the hell out of the stadium as swiftly and pain-free as humanly possible. Instead, though, he’s faced with a forced conversation with a guy who craves media attention more than a Kardashian and who’s created so many black scars for sports in general.
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, Rodriguez was recruited by the University of Miami to play quarterback. Because he opted instead to pursue his Major League Baseball career, he still has NCAA eligibility left.
Perhaps he’s laying the groundwork to become Harbaugh’s first major recruit in Ann Arbor. I mean think about it…Chase Headley isn’t going anywhere after that four-year, $52 million deal was just signed.
