Rapper 2 Chainz joined The Nancy Grace Show to debate the host over the legalization of marijuana in the USA.

Nancy Grace decided that there aren’t enough people who can’t hear themselves think when she discusses a topic on which she has little to no expertise. So she decided to have rapper 2 Chainz on her show to discuss why he supports the legalization of marijuana.

This quickly turned into a debate without a winner because Nancy Grace never stops talking over the people she interviews. Check it out for yourself below.

If you don’t have the nine minutes to watch the full video, allow me to sum it up with an unofficial transcript.

Nancy Grace: 2 Chainz, someone’s house burned down because of pot smoking. How can you support it?

2 Chainz: Well, people kind of make their own decisions in life and these people clearly have problems that probably go beyond smoking pot. I mean, this video of a mom trying to make her baby smoke pot is clearly the fault of the mom, not the pot.

Nancy Grace: But smoking pot is bad!

2 Chainz: Sure, but so is alcohol and that’s perfectly legal. We’re all individuals capable of making our own choices and while I don’t condone every choice made by every person smoking pot, I do–

Nancy Grace: BUT SMOKING POT IS BAD.

It goes on like that for a while until even the camera-people feel bad for Nancy Grace and simply stop airing. At least that’s what we assume happens at the end of the video.

We’re not here to advocate one way or another on the issue. That stuff is for the potheads and politicians. What we are here to advocate for is decent debate on news television. Too often we get the overbearing host who brings someone on then just uses that person as a prop for their own exclamations.

Nancy Grace comes off as so wildly obnoxious and ignorant in this regard that she could be arguing for free money only for guys and girls who sit around and write news stories all morning and we’d disagree with her.

Some things are less about the message and more about the medium. While 2 Chainz has his thoughts together on the issue and supports them in reasoned, measured tones, Nancy Grace continues to speak permanently in caps lock.

Until that changes, we can’t take serious any argument she’s making, even if it’s simply one against a substance that’s illegal in most States.
