Kobe Bryant had a good-old time at LeBron James’ expense after ‘The King’ missed an alley-oop dunk during their head to head matchup last night at Staples Center.

We get it Kobe Bryant: everybody in the NBA is friends now.

Regardless of the city or the color you wear, NBA superstars are all buddies and take the time to yak it up, even during the game. Winks, soft smiles and bro-hugs run amok in today’s league, and quite frankly, it’s enough to make you sick sometimes.

In a game between the

Los Angeles Lakers

and the

Cleveland Cavaliers

, Bryant displayed some of the league’s buddy-system ways last night as LeBron James went a little strong on an alley-oop:

Are you kidding me with this?

With the game knotted up at 49, with just under four minutes to go in the half, James took an alley-oop from teammate Kyrie Irving. It clanged off the far rim and went into the stands.

On his way back to the defensive end, Kobe thought the mere idea of him missing was hilarious. James made sure to let Kobe know he thought it was funny too.

Rewind “The Association” back 25 years and bring out your most imaginative mind for just a moment.

How about if Michael Jordan took a BJ Armstrong alley-oop and missed it the way James did. Could you ever imagine Detroit Pistons big man Bill Laimbeer laughing it up as Jordan fell back on defense?

No, you can’t imagine that–because it never happened.

How about Larry Bird even? Could you for one moment imagine him laughing on the court with an opposing player?

Here’s a few examples of how Bird greeted players on the court:

The NBA has gone from superstars wanting to rip your heart right out of your chest to having them play patty-cake with loving hearts.

Worse than the fact that the game was tied at 49 at the time, is the fact that the Lakers stink and the Cavs were coming off a six-game losing streak.

You’d think James would’ve been all business last night. Then again though, this is the new NBA.
