NBA Player Rankings: Who is the midseason Most Valuable Player: Steph Curry or James Harden?

Well, we’ve finally reached the halfway point of the NBA season, and it seems like this season is flying by faster than any other. That’s probably because it’s been a year full of crazy.

Who would have thought the Golden State Warriors would be 34-6 through their first 40 games with Steve Kerr as the head coach?

More from NBA

And, to think Kerr almost took the job to coach the New York Knicks… That’s remarkable, especially considering Derek Fisher’s record as a head coach (7-36) is almost the exact opposite of Kerr’s record as a head coach. Oh, how the turn tables…

This post isn’t about the coaches, though; it’s about the players, the top 20 players in the NBA, in fact.

And, that’s also been crazy! Right now, there’s a battle for MVP that’s started to heat up over the last week or so: Steph Curry vs. James Harden.

Although those are the two front-runners, there are others waiting patiently in the background waiting for their chance to make a move. Who are those other players? Let’s find out!

Remember: this is not a “Who’s been the best through the first half of the season.” This post is a weekly post monitoring the events of the last week and reframing those events in the scope of the entire season.

With that said, here at the Top 20 NBA Player Power Rankings, starting with Dirk Nowitzki at No. 20.
