Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will keep working to be the best of the best

Super Bowl media week found the NFL’s leading receiver Antonio Brown making the interview rounds. Brown is working with DICK’s Sporting Goods “Jersey Report.” Brown’s jersey had the biggest comeback in jersey sales, beginning the season ranked 67th and finished the season at 14th overall.

Deservedly so after catching a league best 129 balls for just under 1700 yards to go along with 13 Touchdowns.

Hall of Famer, the greatest to ever do it at the receiver position, Jerry Rice recently called Brown the best young receiver in the game.

Brown loved hearing those words, saying: “Anytime the best to ever do it has nice things to say about you it’s flattering. It’s great to have him mentioning me with the best of the best.”

Interesting to read that Brown was trying to “pick the brain” of the greatest receiver to ever play the game. Strategy like that should help keep Brown atop the NFL receiver world for years to come.

FanSided asked Brown a variety of additional questions including whether he would shake Roger Goodell’s hand if Brown saw him on the street or cross over to the other side and act like he didn’t see the commish.

“I’d probably walk up to him and ask him what he is doing with that 42.5 millions dollars. That is a whole lot of money,” Brown joked.

No argument here.

As for whether Marshawn Lynch should speak to the media Brown thought the answer was yes.

“Some players don’t know how to get their point across, or what they can or cannot say,” Brown said. “But, it is a part of our jobs. People like to get the perspective of the players. You shouldn’t have to do it all the time, but sometimes you need to address the media.”

Again, no argument here.

Not surprisingly Brown appreciates both his head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

On Tomlin, Brown said: “He is a great guy, great coach. He shakes your hand coming off the field. He has tremendous respect for his players.”

As for Haley, Brown added: “He is always inspiring, always motivating telling me I’m just as good or better than any other player. He is always finding a way to make you better.”

Brown and his quarterback Ben Roethlisberger have come a long way in their five years working together.

“I think we have a tremendous trust. Ben saw how hard I worked when I came into the league. He gained confidence in me and we continue to get better and better.”

Brown isn’t quite the household name of Calvin Johnson yet, but if he keeps putting up 129 catches in a season type numbers, those 84 jerseys will continue to fly off the shelves.
