In the circle of life that is WWE Divas, there’s hot, hotter and hottest.
And then there’s Lana.
The Ravishing Russian, and advocate for US Champion Rusev, provided fans with a sneak preview from her photo shoot with Maxim via her Instagram account. While they’re not full-blow NSFW, they barely stay in bounds:
Hooray for Russia, indeed.
We know what you’re thinking: while this is quite sizzling and could melt snow in the northeast, why oh why can’t we go back to the old days where WWE had a very productive relationship with Playboy? Remember when Wrestlemania time also meant that Vinny Mac was going to unveil the likes of Sable, Torrie Wilson, Christy Hemme and Maria on the cover?
Yes, yet another reason to despise the current “PG Era.”
Type in “Lana WWE Maxim” in Google, and you’ll get over 198,000 results in .60 seconds. You can only imagine how many results you’d get if you replaced “Maxim” with “Playboy.” Granted, we all know that won’t be happening so long as WWE is catering to Mattel and Warner Brothers, but one can dream, right?
Lana will be front and center in what is brewing to be a potential Wrestlemania 31 match between Rusev and John Cena. The two butted heads in the Royal Rumble wrap-up show on WWE Network on Sunday night, which should set the stage between the undefeated Bulgarian Beast and Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, Respect. This should put Rusev one step closer to main event status, with Lana also reaping the benefits.
However, a Rusev-Cena feud could most likely to Rusev facing the same “we don’t quite know what to do with him now” scenario that Bray Wyatt has endured since losing to Cena last year at Wrestlemania 30.
