After years of giving the world the runaround, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will be fighting each other in the most anticipated boxing match in decades.

Boxing fans have been begging Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather to fight for ages now, but a deal to get the two in the ring together hasn’t happened. For one reason or another, the fight has come close to happening but has fallen apart before it could happen.

No longer is that the case, as the two aging boxers will set up and fight after the dup agreed to a bout which will take place later this year.

According to a report from TMZ, the two fighters have finally both agreed to a deal to fight and a bout is going to be scheduled for later this year.

"Manny had agreed to his contract weeks ago … and it was all up to Floyd to sign on the dotted line. But now, after meeting in person at the Miami Heat game earlier this week … we’re told it’s a done deal .. and the two sides will make a formal announcement in the coming days."

The rumor is that the bout will happen in May, but with that being just a few months away that date could be pushed back to later in the summer. That, of course, is assuming the two keep the fight on, as anything can happen after the ups and downs the journey to this fight has taken.

So far it’s looking like the fight we all wanted to see five years ago will finally be happening but with neither Mayweather or Pacquiao at the place in their careers they were when the original pleas for the bout surfaced, this will always be a ‘what-if’ fight.

It’s a fight nonetheless though and it’s one that will have the sports word captured before, during and after it happens.
