So, apparently there is a very simple explanation to why the New England Patriots footballs were deflated. Actually, a simple mathematical formula.

These defaltegate pamphlets are circulating around the Super Bowl, showing a simple mathematical formula proving that it’s simply physics that the footballs were deflated.

Okay, maybe it’s not quite a simple formula.

After the mathematical formula is complete, the conclusion is that when the footballs are properly inflated at room temperature (75 degrees Fahrenheit), the PSI of the footballs will read 11.2 to 12.2 when the game is played at 49 degrees Fahrenheit.

The original reports of the footballs PSI is that they were two pounds under the limit, which is more than the amount of a air a ball could naturally lose due to the weather and playing with the balls. However, since then, it is said that those two pounds may have been exaggerated, and the balls were actually closer to losing only one pound of air. This would fall into the realm of the balls naturally losing air due to the weather and use of the football.

So, this mathematical formula may actually hold some weight. Can we stop talking about deflategate now?

Just do as the pamphlet says NF:. Fire the lawyer, hire an Engineer.
