Suzy Kolber brought to tears remembering Stuart Scott at Super Bowl (Video)
By Josh Hill
Stuart Scott was more than just a SportsCenter anchor, and there is no one at Bristol who was closer to the man than Suzy Kolber.
While Stuart Scott was fighting cancer, beating it for almost a decade before he tragically passed away, perhaps no one was closer to him at ESPN than Suzy Kolber. She replaced him on Monday Night Football coverage, she was with him since their SportsNight days on ESPN2 and they have been close for decades.

Suzy Kolber was leading the charge to keep the fight alive with Stuart Scott and it was heartbreaking to watch. Here was a person who wasn’t a blood relative or a member of his family, but she was out in front of the fight to keep his memory alive even before he was gone.
Naturally, Kolber dedicated her time on air in the morning hours of ESPN’s coverage of Super Bowl XLIX to remembering Stuart Scott and pouring out her emotions. It was an absolutely heartbreaking few minutes of television that saw Kolber have some laughs and shed more than a few tears over the loss of someone who very clearly meant the world to her.
You can’t watch that and not get a little chocked up yourself. When Stuart Scott died, there was an outpouring of support for his family from everyone at ESPN to random fans who remembered watching Scott as he rose to prominence at ESPN.
He was the Nirvana of sportscasters, breaking the mold and changing the game like it hadn’t been changed before, but beyond that he was someone that everyone close to him held dear in their hearts. Watching Suzy Kolber sort through her emotions live on air is perhaps the bravest thing that will be accomplished at the Super Bowl this weekend.
