MLB 15: The Show Anniversary Edition details revealed

MLB 15: The Show will be the tenth game in the respected MLB The Show series for PlayStation, and Sony is commemorating the anniversary with a special edition of the game.
Sony announced the special edition with a tweet:
The anniversary edition will cost $69.99, $10 more than the regular edition. Buyers of the special edition will receive the following bonus content:
- Exclusive MLB 15 The Show 10th Anniversary Wood Grain SteelBook and Exclusive Cover
- 12k in Stubs ($9.99 value)
- 15 Bonus Item packs ($15.00 value)
- All 30 MLB Team Dynamic Themes ($ 3.49 each retail)
- Official MLB 15 Dynamic Theme ($3.49 retail)
If you don’t know what any of that means, then the anniversary edition is probably not for you, but if those extras interest you, you may be getting a good value here.
The anniversary edition is available for pre-order today at retail stores, and the pre-order will be available on Feb. 10 digitally. If you pre-order the game, you will receive a free skin for your PS4 controller with the logo of the MLB team of your choice.
Today at 5 p.m. eastern time, the first gameplay of MLB 15 The Show will be revealed on the San Diego Studio Twitch channel, where the Sony team will show off some of the new features being introduced to the game this year.
According to previous releases from Sony Studios, the new features for the game will include:
- Gameplay improvements such as improved AI, dynamic difficulty, enhanced ball physics, and new outfielder routes
- Year-to-Year Saves from previous or future editions of The Show
- Officially Licensed Equipment
- Graphical Improvements such as real-time seasonal sun and shadows, player skin tone realism, revamped Night lighting, more accurate and photorealistic rendering system, and ten more minor league stadiums
- Directional Hitting Interface
- Franchise Mode Refresh
- Personalities for individual players and teams
- “Inside The Show” news suite
- Presentation Improvements such as dynamic stat based presentations, split screen functionality, real-time situational/emotional AI scenes (dugouts, crowd, etc.), all-new jumbotron movies, and more team and player celebrations
- Addition of the instant replay challenge system
- Commentary improvements
The Show has been a highly acclaimed game series since its inception in 2006, known for its realistic portrayal of the game of baseball, to the point where its main competition, the MLB 2K series, has been driven out of business. This year’s version features Dodgers star Yasiel Puig on the cover, and there is also a Canadian cover featuring new Toronto Blue Jay Russell Martin on its cover.
MLB 15: The Show comes out on March 31.
