The Sacramento Kings are looking to make some trades after hiring George Karl, and Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Reggie Jackson is one of their targets.

Reggie Jackson has been one of the most talked about trade targets over the past few weeks, and it has seemed like the Oklahoma City Thunder are serious about listening to offers for the talented young point guard. The Sacramento Kings have been a very active team in trade talks over the past couple years, and the hiring of George Karl has made them jump back into trade discussions.

According to a report from SportingNews.com, the Kings are interested in acquiring Jackson from the Thunder.

He would be an intriguing pickup for the Kings, although Sacramento already has a very talented Darren Collison running the point. Perhaps they could move Ben McLemore to the bench and start both Collison and Jackson in the back-court. That would be a very quick and exciting duo to watch.

Through the first 50 games that he has played so far this season, Jackson has averaged 12.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. He is shooting 43.2 percent from the field overall and just 27.8 percent from behind the three-point arc.

Adding a player with the type of athletic ability and potential that Jackson has is exactly what the Kings need. Karl is the type of coach that could take Jackson to the next level. All of this would depend on what the Thunder would demand in return from the Kings, but Sacramento has some value that they could move for a player like Jackson.

The NBA’s trading deadline is coming up on February 19th this year, and there are already a ton of rumors flying around. Plenty of trades have already happened this year, and there are plenty more that have a chance.

Jackson is one of the most attractive trade options on the market, but the Thunder aren’t going to trade him just to make a move. They are going to ask for a good amount of value in return for him, and the Kings will have to decide whether or not he is worth the type of deal that they would have to give up.

All of that being said, the Kings are going to be a team to keep an eye on the next six days. They have a desire to make a move or two, and they have some pieces to offer. Karl wants to build a playoff contender quickly, and acquiring Jackson from the Thunder would be a big step in that direction.
