After hearing all day about how the Brooklyn Nets were set to acquire Reggie Jackson, the Detroit Pistons swooped in an acquired him in the 11th hour of the deadline.

When the Detroit Pistons waived Josh Smith, they seemed to have fixed everything that was broken about them — but that feeling didn’t last long. It was a great run for the Pistons but the injury to Brandon Jennings crippled their backcourt and left them without a star guard — until now.

Down in Oklahoma City, the Thunder were growing tired of Reggie Jackson and knew that there was no place for him  next season nor the money to re-sign him, which meant a trade wa inevitable.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Detroit Pistons have acquired Reggie Jackson from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Vincent Ellis reports that the Pistons could be sending back D.J. Augstin in the trade as well.

The Pistons needed this trade and they needed to find a guy who can be a star for them. That could be Jackson, as he outgrew his space in Oklahoma City and needed to go. The Utah Jazz also got in on this trade, making it a three way blockbuster we all saw happening with Brooklyn, only when the dust settles has inlaced two wildly different teams with the same — if not better — results.
