Derrick Rose is dealing with his third straight serious injury to his knees after news broke yesterday that the former MVP has another torn meniscus that will need surgery to repair.

Another season is in jeopardy for Chicago’s Derrick Rose, and it is pretty heartbreaking to everyone that loves the game of basketball.

More from Chicago Bulls

It would be one thing is all these injuries were spread out over a full career, but Rose has not been given such luxury. His downfall started in 2012 when he tore his ACL in the playoffs, and that injury has now been followed by two tears in his meniscus – both in the same knee.

Although the ACL injury occurred in the knee opposite of his other two injuries, I can not imagine playing basketball on two reconstructed knees is an easy task.

Rose appeared to be on the road to be one of the greatest point guards of all-time prior to these setbacks. He started his career by winning Rookie of the Year, and then he made three All-Star games and won the regular season MVP in 2011.

Those accomplishments were good enough to get the respect from everyone in the league, and it looks like his peers are just as heartbroken as us.

"Damn man send one up for D Rose.. Hate this keeps coming back but like before it won't keep you down!"

There were many, many more people who took the time to reach out to Rose – but you get the idea. LeBron James later even did a quick little video just to talk about Rose.

I doubt Rose has even seen all of this support yet as I’m sure he has been busy since the injury became official, but I know he will be floored once he sees it.

The timetable is still up in the air as of right now. Rose is expected to have surgery today, and they really won’t know how long he will be out until they do the surgery. It could be as bad as missing the entire season, or he could pull a Russell Westbrook from last year and return in a quick six weeks.

Whatever happens with the surgery, I know everyone is simply hoping for the best.

Come back soon, Derrick Rose.
