R.J. and Ron Hunter had a nice on-court father and son moment just before Georgia State lost to Xavier in the NCAA Tournament.

Ron Hunter led the Georgia State Panthers to the Round of 32 against the Xavier Musketeers, but was unable to lead them to the Sweet 16. Ron’s son, R.J. Hunter was a huge key for them throughout the entire 2014-15 season, and they had a very nice father and son moment just prior to their loss against Xavier.

Take a look at the video for yourself:

R.J. hit an amazing shot against the Baylor Bears in order to send the Panthers to the Round of 32 against Xavier. He was excellent all season long, and was without question one of the most underrated players in the tournament. It isn’t every day that a father and son are able to shine on such a big level as the NCAA Tournament.

During the 2014 season, R.J. ended up averaging 19.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.

His three-point shooting kept defenses honest, and he also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. Hunter’s ability to get to the free-throw line also made him a complete all-around offensive player. Defensively, he wasn’t the best player on the court but he did enough to not be a liability for them.

Hunter does have the option to go into the NBA Draft this offseason, but Ron is going to do everything in his power to keep his son in school. More than likely, the Panthers can expect to see their star player back next season.

Needless to say, this was a heartwarming moment between the two Hunter’s despite the disappointing loss that ended their season.
