Marv Albert will not be calling the game Saturday night between Kentucky and Notre Dame, which is the Midwest Regional Final held in Cleveland. Albert was described as “under the weather” by Turner/CBS on Friday night. He will be replaced by Brian Anderson, who will join Len Elmore, Chris Webber and sideline reporter Lewis Johnson, according to The Big Lead.

Anderson previously teamed up with Steve Smith and Jackson to call the tournament games during the first weekend of play. He also called Notre Dame’s first two games of the tournament that were held in Pittsburgh. Saturday’s game with Kentucky will tip off at 8:49PM on TBS. Earlier in the evening, Wisconsin plays Arizona with tipoff at 6:09PM.

Notre Dame is an 11.5 point underdog, but there are plenty of reasons they could pull off the upset against Kentucky. The Irish have experience with two seniors in Jerian Grant and Pat Connaughton, who have had both really good careers and seasons. They can take the lead and not be intimidated by Kentucky. Grant is the team’s leading scorer and Connaughton is the team’s leading rebounder at 6’5. He’s also a 42 percent three point shooter and is really a player to watch in general because of his sound fundamentals.

Probably the best thing that could have happened to Notre Dame is Kentucky beating the stuffing out of the Mountaineers on Thursday, thus making them the potentially overrated favorites. They will have seen piles of media by now, telling them how awesome they are and what a force they are.

However, Notre Dame still has to keep in mind that the Wildcats haven’t played a game in single digits for over three weeks, they are essentially killing their opponents. Even if Kentucky is overrated by the media, the Irish will have to be playing their best game to to hang with them.
