Louisville forward Mangok Mathiang made an incredibly ridiculous free throw to tie the game and send it to overtime.

The end of regulation of Michigan State and Louisville on Sunday, came down to free throws. In a tough physical game between the two teams looking to advance to the Final Four, Louisville had a chance to win the game if their forward Mangok Mathiang, a 48 percent free throw shooter, could make a couple of free throws.

Standing at the line, with the crowd loud behind him, Mathiang had to shoot free throws in the most pressure-filled environment of his career.

His first shot started out by not looking so pretty but ended up tying the game in thanks to some improbable basketball physics.

It was an absolutely ridiculous shot and a lucky break for Louisville.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Mathiang would miss the second and the game would go to overtime where Michigan State would ultimately pull out the victory and a trip to the Final Four.

If Mathiang could have made the last free throw, it would have been Louisville heading to Indianapolis for a shot at an NCAA Championship.

It appears that luck didn’t strike twice for Mathiang.
