All these years later, Adam Morrison and Duke fans are still at odds.

For the first time all tournament during the Elite Eight, a CBS broadcast caught a glimpse of Gonzaga legend and current assistant video coordinator Adam Morrison on the bench, via Bleacher Report.

As many on social media noted, Morrison is sporting a slightly different look than in his playing days. Most significantly, his trademark mustache is gone.

Apparently, Morrison got into some extracurricular activity with a fan following Gonzaga’s loss to Duke in the Elite Eight. From Jerry Brewer of The Seattle Times:

In this case, both Morrison and the fan are likely right.

Duke’s beef with Morrison stems from back in 2006, when Blue Devil icon J.J. Redick was forced to share the national player of the year award with Morrison. Redick averaged 26.8 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the field, while Morrison totaled 28.1 points per game on 49.6 percent from the floor. Both were eliminated in the Sweet 16 and went on to become lottery picks in the 2006 draft.

Redick is now ten years into his NBA career, averaging 10.7 points per game with great improvement the past few years. Morrison is one of the all-time epic NBA draft busts, flaming out after four seasons with 7.5 points per contest.

However, Morrison won back-to-back rings with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2008-10, with Redick still searching for his first. Morrison’s 84 total points over two seasons obviously provided key support to Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.

Just like with the 2006 national player of the year award, it’s a close call as to who’s really had the better NBA career. At least Morrison’s troll game is strong, as some Duke fans aren’t ready to move on yet.
