Drake channels his inner Vince Carter and dominates pickup game

Drake showcased his court skills on his Instagram account yesterday while wearing a Vince Carter throwback jersey.

Drake was shooting jumpers with his woes yesterday on his instagram page. In a video posted to his page, Drake is seen making shot after shot in a pickup basketball game with friends. Maybe it was the magic of the throwback Vince Carter jersey the Toronto native was wearing? Another video has him hitting nothing but net from way downtown.

His play is impressive. He has a nice looking shot and he makes it look almost effortless. His opposition may not be the toughest though. If I’m Drake’s friend and he asks to play some basketball I would do two things. One, I accept his offer. When Drake wants to play ball you play ball. Two, I let Drake win. If you go up against your buddy Drake, your incredibly rich and successful buddy, you let him win. You need to make sure you don’t hurt his superstar ego. If you do you may find yourself on the receiving end of a mixtape diss and once Drake disses you, it’s over.


This “let Drake win” approach is amplified when you’re playing on his private court. No way do you step into Drake’s house after he so graciously invites you in then slam down a windmill dunk over his head for game point. You guard him loosely so he can make his jumpers and you tweak your shots a little to the left so they eat rim and bounce out of bounds before saying “Wow, Drake. You make it look so easy! Haha I love your latest album! Please be my friend and take me to an award show so I can meet Rihanna.” And you better say it just like that or else he will suspect something is up and mixtape diss you.

Drake is a big Toronto Raptors fan. He  usually sits court side for the games and is probably very excited for the Raptor’s playoff series against the Washington Wizards. With any luck, a little bit of Drake’s magic will rub off on the Raptor’s just like that magic Vince Carter Jersey gave Drake the ability to make shots from anywhere on the court.
