The Chicago Blackhawks blew a two goal lead in the third period at home against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night, but came back to win in 2 OTs

Saturday night looked like it was going to be another low scoring affair in what has been a great series thus far. Then in the third period, both teams lit up the net and the shootout was on from there. The two teams combined for five goals in the first ten minutes of the period and six overall.

Even worse for Chicago, they had a two goal lead in the period up 3-1, before the Ducks went on a furious rally to score three goals in 37 seconds.

The game started with Brandon Saad scoring a goal in the first, and Kyle Palmieri evened it up in the second with a goal. For all intents and purposes though, the real story of this game began in the third period.

With the scored tied at 1-1, Jonathan Toews scored a goal to give Chicago the advantage.

After the Toews goal, defenseman Brent Seabrook extended the Blackhawks lead to 3-1 with a huge slapshot.

With Chicago riding the momentum and everyone expecting the game to be over, the Anaheim Ducks then went on one of the most insane playoff runs in playoff history as the team scored three goals in an incredible 37 seconds.

First it was Ryan Kesler who got the scoring going as he put it right past goalie Corey Crawford.

The madness didn’t stop their either, just a few moments as Matt Beleskey scored with a wrist-shot around the defenseman.

With the Blackhawks suddenly stunned, the team called a timeout to regroup from the sudden onslaught. Unfortunately, that didn’t work as Corey Perry scored just seconds later to cap off a wild three goals in just 37 seconds.

The United Center and everyone watching went silent after what they had just witnessed. A team like the Blackhawks giving up three easy goals is almost unheard of.

Fortunately, Patrick Kane was able to tie the game to stop the bleeding.

The game would then head to two overtimes, but in the end, it was the Chicago Blackhawks that were able to even the series up at two games apiece.
