Philadelphia Phillies bat boy took Ben Revere’s bat after a foul ball in the middle of his at bat.

Being a bat boy seems so simple. Hang out in the dug out with your heroes, occasionally run out and grab a bat. It can be tricky though at times, just ask the Philadelphia Phillies bat boy.

Ben Revere hit a foul ball during Sunday’s Phillies-Nationals game and took off for first base. So the Phillies bat boy went into his instinctual mode and ran out to grab the bat.

The issue of course is that his at bat wasn’t over because it was a foul ball and he’d go back to the plate. When he went to look for his bat, it was absent and the bat boy had to bring it back out to Revere.

You can watch the whole scene below and it adds a little bit something extra too it. The commentators are deep in the middle of some insightful analysis when one of them pauses to point out that the bat boy has made off with Revere’s bat.
