The 2015 MLB season is “officially” underway.

Of course, you are undoubtedly thinking that the season began weeks ago, and you would be right. However, Memorial Day always serves the kick-off to the summer, and baseball takes center stage for the next portion of the calendar.

There have been surprises across the league, ranging from the red-hot Twins and Astros to the suddenly miserable Reds, but from an individual perspective, the stars have been shining in a less shocking manner. Talent often “wins” across professional sports, but because baseball is very much an individual game on a play by play basis, the team with the best roster owns a unique advantage, even if it hasn’t manifested itself by the time Memorial Day has come and gone.

In this space, we will examine the league’s individual award categories, rewarding the best of the best. You can view last week’s choices here, but as always, this is a fluid situation that reflects who should take home each piece of hardware if the season ended today.
