Joey Gallo and Bryce Harper were once on the same team, terrifying Little League pitchers.

Joey Gallo debuted in the majors for the Texas Rangers last night and it didn’t take long for him to show off the lumber. The 21-year-old third baseman went 3-4 in his debut with a double, a homer, a walk, and four RBIs. That’s how you crush your first shot in the majors.

Meanwhile 22-year-old Washington Nationals sensation Bryce Harper is looking like the superstar he was promised to be. He leads the National League and is tied for the Major League lead in homers with 19 while hitting .329 with 44 RBIs.

How are these two linked other than being two undeniable young stars for the future of baseball? They were terrorizing pitchers together back in the day as a part of the same Little League team:

That almost seems like cheating to have two players on a Little League team that had that much natural talent. Just guessing, but that seems like back-to-back home runs every time they both saw pitches back in the day.

There’s no doubt in my mind that opposing coaches were fans of intentionally walking the duo to avoid destruction and pitch to the kid who picked his nose and played with butterflies out in left field.
