By Mike Dyce
Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin tries to help fans decipher the lyrics to “Trap Queen” from Fetty Wap.
The folks at the YouTube channel Clevver TV set out to interview random people on the street about lyrics for the song “Trap Queen” from Fetty Wap. One of those people includes Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin who is pretty fluent in hip hop terminology.
This isn’t really surprising considering Griffin is an NBA player, with as many of them that try to be rappers you’d expect there would be a certain base level of knowledge.
“Married to the money introduced her to my stove”
Griffin explains it as “cooking the drugs up” but clarifies that he doesn’t know how it works.
“She my trap queen, let her hit the bando / We be countin’ up watch how far them bands go”
Griffin clarifies that the “bando” is the abandon house they use to make drugs, and that bands differs because it refers to money. Rap Genius defines “bando” exactly how Griffin explained it.
“I be in the kitchen cookin’ pies with my baby”
This is where Griffin loses it, saying that he thinks it is very literal.
Griffin also adds that he thinks the Ed Sheeran version is better.
