Hulk Hogan says it’s 50-50 he wrestles at WrestleMania 32

Hulk Hogan said in an interview that the odds of him wrestling at WrestleMania 32 are “50-50.”

WrestleMania 32 will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and many expect Jerry Jones and Vince McMahon to go after attendance records. The rumors have been rampant, could The Rock return to wrestling there, could Stone Cold Steve Austin return, what about a super match involving Sting and the Undertaker?

Well, there is one more rumor that could happen, Hulk Hogan could wrestle at WrestleMania 32. In an interview with Fox Sports to promote WWE’s resurrected reality television competition “Tough Enough,” Hogan put the odds of a return at “50/50.”

The real question is whether or not anyone wants to see Hogan wrestle. One of the biggest knocks against WrestleMania has been that part-time WWE superstars or legends come back to dominate the card, pushing younger and up-and-comers from shining. For instance, The Rock returning to wrestle John Cena in a non-title match at WrestleMania 28 in the main event. Meanwhile WWE champions CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho in the co-main event, a match which featured an incredibly hot star at the time and a WWE legend.

The other question is who would Hogan wrestle at WrestleMania 32?

At WrestleMania 31, the WWE did a good job of allowing new and young talent to shining while incorporating throwbacks to the card in cameo or ancillary roles. For instance, in the Sting vs Triple H match, Triple H’s old D-Generation X buddies came out, while NWO – including Hogan – came out to support Sting.

The problem with those cameos is that they’re surprises and can’t be promoted in order to sell pay-per-views or increase attendance at a venue seeking to break attendance records.

Hogan came out to open WrestleMania 30 as a host, and botched the name of the Superdome calling it the Silverdome instead.

I think fans would rather see Stone Cold return than Hogan again, but he could be wrestling in something besides a singles match which would make his appearance on the card more tolerable if done correctly.
