Apparently Carmelo Anthony was not a fan of the moves the New York Knicks made at the NBA Draft on Thursday night

The New York Knicks, of course, were one of the big stories coming out of the NBA Draft on Thursday night. Much of the talk is centered around the fact that they drafted 19-year-old Kristaps Porzingis with the No. 4 overall pick, a move that didn’t go over all that well with the Knicks’ fans. Apparently, Carmelo Anthony wasn’t much of a fan either.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, Carmelo made a call to Tim Hardaway Jr. to let him know how unhappy he was with the moves made by Phil Jackson.

Hardaway was traded away from the Knicks to the Atlanta Hawks in the deal that landed New York the services of Notre Dame point guard Jerian Grant. Now, it’s hard to imagine that Anthony wouldn’t be happy with having Grant on board, as he was one of the popular Knicks picks of the night. How Anthony couldn’t be excited to play with a nice young ball handler like Grant is a bit baffling.

Aside from Porzingis and Grant, the Knicks also drafted a very raw international center in Guillermo Hernangomez with the No. 35 overall pick.

Clearly, the uneasiness stems over how long they project Porzingis to become a contributing force.

Still, the drama of the Knicks franchise seems to continue on here. Anthony, who decided to return to New York last season during free agency rather than head elsewhere and potentially contend for a title, might be regretting the decision just a tad. Not from a monetary standpoint, of course, but he was maybe of the belief that the team would get some better pieces around him. Clearly, he doesn’t see that to be the case.
