Well, we could now put all the speculation to bed in regards to Dwyane Wade and his future in the NBA. On Thursday, the second day of the NBA Free Agency period, we learned that he will not be going anywhere, accepting a one-year deal from the Miami Heat worth $20 million.

Not long after the reports started to hit the internet, Wade posted this inspirational video to his Instagram account, officially letting it be known that he’ll be with the team he started his career with for at least another season.

While some didn’t believe that Wade would leave the team, the fact of the matter is that the threat was very real. Opting out of his contract with the team a few weeks ago, Wade made it pretty clear to Pat Riley and Co. that he was looking for a large chunk of change this summer, or else he could take off elsewhere. But, again, deep down most of us knew that one way or another Riley would not let that happen.

Now, every Heat fan out there can put their worries to bed because the face of the franchise will not be going anywhere. Alongside Chris Bosh, Hassan Whiteside, Luol Deng and Goran Dragic, Wade will now see if he can get the Heat back to the top of the Eastern Conference.
