With their first meeting being a complete disaster, the Lakers were nice enough to apologize to LaMarcus Aldridge

The 2015 NBA Free Agency period opened up on Wednesday, and one of the first teams to get the opportunity to make a pitch to LaMarcus Aldridge was none other than the Los Angeles Lakers. Well, needless to say, things didn’t go all that well. Things didn’t go all that well because apparently the Lakers barely talked any basketball, something that Aldridge was actually pretty interested in. He wasn’t interested in the perks of Hollywood — he wanted to know what could happen on the court.

Luckily for the Lakers, though, he gave them another chance on Thursday night, and they made sure to say that they were really, really sorry for how the first get together went.

Well, that was nice of them. Not sure how much that helps their chances at landing him at this point, but they at least get credit for trying to rectify everything here with the most coveted free agent on the market at this point.

All joking aside, their chances at getting Aldridge to come to Los Angeles are pretty slim right now. After the first few days of the free agency period, the favorites to bring Aldridge in at this point are the Suns and the Spurs. Since about late Wednesday night, this has been a two-team race.

But this is the NBA Free Agency period, and as we’ve seen in the past, anything can really happen.
