My grandmother, like many other grandmas, used to have a saying that she would use on me all the time when I would make some ridiculous assumptions: “If ifs and buts were candies and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas.” It angered me, but in a sense she was correct. Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving recently made an assumption about the recent NBA Finals, and the Warriors’ Draymond Green has come back at him in a way similar to what my grandmother used to say to me above.

Irving, who was injured in Game 1 and never played the rest of the series, recently made the comment that had the Cavaliers been fully healthy, mainly with he and Kevin Love on the floor, then they surely would have won the NBA title. It’s not outlandish to think that might have been the case, but again, you can’t change the circumstances that unfolded and the Warriors are the champs — plain and simple.

Well, Draymond Green was recently asked about these comments and his retort was purely magical and priceless and it was pretty much everything you could have asked for.

“Larry O’Brien resides in Oakland, California. So, you know, if I was 6’11”, I think I could be like Anthony Davis.” Green said.

Can you get a much better response than that? Honestly, you probably can’t. Once again, Draymond Green is showing off that humor that makes him one of the more colorful players in the entire league.

Now, though, can we get a response from his mom as well? I bet that would be 10 times more hilarious.
