Indiana Pacers 2015-16 NBA schedule
Running down the Indiana Pacers schedule for the 2015-16 NBA season.
The 2014-15 campaign for the Indiana Pacers was, for lack of a better phrase, a lost season. The team scrapped and competed, but was, for the most part, a sailboat without any wind.
Coming off a banner 2013-14 campaign, Indiana looked poised to make a run for the Finals last season – especially given the weakened state of the Eastern Conference. However, all hopes were dashed when Paul George went down with a gruesome leg injury during Team USA practice during the summer. Without its best player, the team was effectively done before the starting gun had even sounded. A pair of early season losing streaks (six and eight games, respectively, within the first two months) put the Pacers out of their misery.
Looking forward, George should be 100% heading into the new season. However, the team will need to adjust to life after Roy Hibbert after trading the mercurial big man to the Los Angeles Lakers in July. Frank Vogel is an excellent Xs and Os coach, who can get a lunchpail team to work hard for him, which means Indiana should be able to stir the pot in the league’s softer conference come 2015-16.
