Ryan Mallett slept through Texans’ practice
By Mike Dyce
Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett reportedly overslept and missed practice.
At practice on Thursday, Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett was a notable absence. It’s not cause he was injured, but rather because he overslept.
The timing of this is interesting given that Mallett just recently lost the starting quarterbacks job to Brian Hoyer. It was a decision that Mallett said left him disappointed and angry.
“Disappointed? Yeah,” Mallett said. “Angry? Yeah. I thought I did enough to win the job. It wasn’t seen that way.”
Mallett added: “I thought I had a pretty good camp. I thought I was consistent. I wanted this job more than anything.”
So I’d like to think this is Mallett in full giving zero f–ks mode, but it could’ve been the result of many things. Perhaps he didn’t set his alarm, perhaps he said screw it and went out with his boys on the town.
Whatever the reason was, it probably doesn’t make Texans head coach Bill O’Brien rethink his decision.
Either way, he will probably get fined for his nap.
