Rashad Jennings penned an epic apology for putting Eli Manning on blast after the Giants Week 1 loss.

When he New York Giants lost Week 1 to the Dallas Cowboys, running back Rashad Jennings was less than pleased. He had a chance to score at the end of the game and pt the Giants up in a conniving way, but was told not to score and to try and run out the clock.

We all blamed everyone’s favorite grumpy grandpa — Tom Coughlin — for this decision, but Jennings quickly corrected us and redirected the hate at Eli Manning.

Needless to say, Jennings knows he screwed the pooch by calling out his Super Bowl MVP quarterback, and has been quick to back peddle on his comments in the most epic way possible.

Here’s a small portion of Jennings’ epic apology he penned in the New York Post:

"As soon as I got word of the headlines, I called Eli, and before I could even begin to apologize, he basically expressed his understanding. Being the humble guy that he is, he wanted us to put this fiasco behind us with no hard feelings so that we could focus on the Falcons. That is why I am taking this opportunity to more formalize my apology to Eli, the team and the fans.I also have apologized to Coach [Tom] Coughlin."

There aren’t any fantasy points for players apologizing in newspapers, so don’t even ask.

It’s clear that Jennings knows he screwed this up, as these are the actions of a man who wants to keep his job. Jennings didn’t just apologize in the locker room to the media or have his apology passed along on Twitter. He wrote an entire article that was run n ia major New York publication that apologized for calling out his quarterback.

Say what you will about how dopey Eli is, he clearly has struck the fear of God in the hearts of his teammates if they go to this length to apologize.
