Miami traveled to Jacksonville hoping for an easy win, but that wasn’t the case as the game went down to the wire and the Jaguars came out on top.

59. Final. 23. 52. 20

The Miami Dolphins were looking to take down an inferior in-state opponent, but road games in the NFL are tougher than advertised. Despite the game being close throughout, Ryan Tannehill played well enough to allow his team the best chance to win.

Lamar Miller couldn’t do anything on the ground, though, as he was limited to just a few yards rushing by the Jacksonville Jaguars and it looks like his breakout season will be on hold — at least for now.

Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles and Allen Robinson developed a solid connection over the course of the game and the two are looking like one of the best bonds in the league.

The Jaguars’ run defense was great all game ling and gave up just 14 yards on the ground the the Dolphins’s star back Lamar Miller. This was a huge home win for the young Jags who are looking to develop into one of the next teams in the league.

Three stars

Blake Bortles finished with 273 yards and two passing touchdowns, leading the way for Jacksonville.

The second choice has to be Ryan Tannehill who did everything he could to keep Miami in this one, passing for 359 yards and two touchdowns while leading the run game with 17 yards.

Allen Robinson had a breakout game for the Jaguars at receiver, catching six passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.

Highlights

Odds

The Dolphins were six-point favorites in this one, so if you chose the Jaguars, you are in luck.

Next week

Miami will have its first home game of the 2015 season next week against the Buffalo Bills. This AFC East battle will have a lot on the line as any loss against a divisional foe could set a team back or end up biting them at the end of the year. Miami might be the better team on paper, but Buffalo is looking to rebound after a big loss to New England.

On the other hand, the Jaguars will play their first road game of the year, traveling to the very hostile territory of New England to face the unbeaten Patriots. If Jacksonville can somehow knock the Pats off on the road, people will start giving this team another look.
